The Central Bank has deployed more than 400 Identix BioTouch USB fingerprint readers to its network of member banks and has also purchased a BioLogon server license to enable up to 1000 users to enroll in the new security system.

Central Bank spokesperson Mario Halabi comments: "The information contained in our central databases is highly sensitive and requires top of the line security solutions to protect against unauthorised access. Requiring authentication via Identix' fingerprint biometric security solutions gives us an added layer of security."
