Australia-based capital markets technology outfit Computershare has acquired a 30% stake in Russia's National Registry Company (NRC), for an undisclosed sum.
The stock was purchased from NRC shareholders The Bank of New York International Stock Registry Corporation and The Bank of New York International Financing Corporation.
Jeff Sainsbury, general manager, Computershare UK, says Russia is a fast developing market and an increasingly significant financial centre.
"This new relationship will assist us in continuing to meet the requirements of a global client base," says Sainsbury.
