FutureSource has won a contract with the Chicago Board of Trade for design and development of a new market data service, including streaming real-time quotes, charts, and news, for display on the Cbot Web site.
The online solution will include streaming real-time Cbot quotes, covering all available products on the exchange. Also available will be FutureSource's Interactive Java Charting, as well as real-time OsterDowJones Commodity News.
The product, to be named Cbot Advantage, is browser-based and will include two distinct packages. Users can choose from a simple quotes-only solution, or a fully featured quotes, charts, news and weather package that includes complete workspace management. The higher end offering, which will be marketed as Cbot Advantage Plus, is based on the fsXtra real-time platform recently developed by FutureSource.
The real-time quotes package will likely be priced at $30 per month, says the Cbot, with the Advantage Plus being offered at $85 per month. These prices will include the $30 Cbot real-time market data fee.
Steve Dickey, VP of market data and information at the Cbot, says: "With the Cbot market data fee included in the product price, users can now access real-time data quickly, efficiently and affordably through the Internet."
The new product is expected to be released within the next 30 days, he says.
