The Calypso system provides front to back trading and processing for treasury, fixed income, equity and structured products.

Kishore Bopardikar, President of Calypso, says many banks now have an open source plan and are adopting Linux but are restricted by applications that were built for a single platform and cannot be migrated to the free operating system.

"We are now providing them with the least expensive option for them to deploy and operate critical business applications like Calypso," adds Bopardikar.

Calypso is also available for other platforms including Windows and Solaris.
