The move follows the transfer of derivatives in Brussels to Liffe Connect late last month, with the Dutch markets set to follow by the summer. The migration to the Liffe platform is expected to win business in French equity options from wholesale over the counter markets through the incorporation of new block trading arrangements and more efficient market making schemes.

News of the latest step in the integration process comes as Euronext announced that Sir Brian Williamson is to step down as chairman of Liffe on 1 July, after five years in the post.

The change brings his position into line with Dutch company law, under which membership of a company supervisory board is normally considered to be incompatible with the chairmanship of a subsidiary board. He will continue as a member of the Euronext supervisory board.
