Using a Brocade SAN spanning six SilkWorm 12000 Core Fabric Switches, PostFinance consolidated its storage environment over a dual fabric SAN, supporting more than 100 Terabytes of financial data replicated to a remote site for full disaster recovery capabilities.

Benedikt Vonlanthen, storage management, PostFinance, says the new configuration enables the firm to efficiently re-allocate storage resources and respond more quickly to changing business demands, such as new corporate governance regulations.

"As a result of implementing the Brocade SAN, we have increased storage utilisation from 60 to 90 percent, significantly enhanced application performance, and increased the availability and security of our customer information," he says.
