Dow Jones Newswires has launched a Web-format, XML-based version of its news, features and market information service, Dow Jones NewsPlus, on Thomson Financial Workstations and Thomson One applications in the US.
Dow Jones says it is also working with other market data distributors to integrate the new XML feed into their platforms or to build a direct link to the service.
The feed provides subscribers with Web navigation techniques that eliminate the use of retrieval codes, enabling users to move beyond scrolling headlines to a quick and comprehensive review of market-moving stories, updates, analysis and commentary.
Information on topical subjects, technical analysis, corporate disclosure and personal finance is also highlighted to make it easy to access and use. Top headlines are displayed with summaries and links to the complete story and related information such as press releases, analyst ratings, industry news, fundamental company data and corporate profiles.
Paul Ingrassia, president, Dow Jones Newswires, says: "Our mutual subscriber base of financial advisors, wealth managers, brokers and other investment professionals will find that Dow Jones NewsPlus is a valuable tool that makes it easier to access and use the news that's critical to their practices and customers."
The vendor says it will launch NewsPlus in Europe later this year.
