The new online loyalty marketing programmes are designed to provide Air Canada Aeroplan members and CIBC Aerogold cardholders with multiple opportunities to earn Aeroplan Miles for a variety of online activities developed by Advantex, including Web site click throughs, page views, and shopping at participating e-retailers.

All of the online programmes will be powered by the Advantex SmartBar, a proprietary browser extension technology that travels with registered members while on the Web calculating and issuing rewards as members make purchases at participating e-merchants. Users may also configure their SmartBar to receive news headlines, stock market information, sports highlights, weather reports, as well as other information.

As part of the deal, Air Canada and CIBC have been granted rights to acquire significant equity positions in Advantex over a five-year period.
