Online brokerage DLJdirect has taken advantage of new US digital signature regulations to allow customers to open accounts over the Internet and begin trading immediately.
DLJdirect has long allowed customers to apply for accounts online with no minimum deposit, but, until now, required forms to be signed and returned. The new account application dispenses with the paperwork entirely by using legally binding digital signatures to enforce online contracts.
