Bloomberg adds video and audio to Professional desktop

Bloomberg has launched a multimedia portal, christened AV GO, for delivering video and audio files to users of the Bloomberg Professional service.

Through AV GO users are now able to watch Bloomberg Television, listen to Bloomberg Radio and access stories on demand from around the world in video and audio formats within their desktop environment.

Users will gain access to live coverage of events (Live GO) such as press conferences, forums, government hearings, seminars plus extended interactive interviews with Bloomberg Television guests. Bloomberg's 9 global TV channels (VID GO) and Bloomberg Radio WBBR 1130 (AIR GO), allow users to see and hear live and archived news from their desktops.

Clients with news alert filters will receive email alerts prior to the upcoming interviews and will be able to watch them live from their desktops or access it on their own time as an archived multimedia report.

Bloomberg says it will also utilise the Live technology for the training of its customers in an e-learning environment supported by live video and Bloomberg's instant messaging, all executed through the Bloomberg Professional Service.
