Aberdeen implements Charles River Trading System

UK-based Aberdeen Asset Management has rolled out technology from Charles River Development for equity, fixed income and derivatives dealing, compliance and order management to 120 users at its six global offices.

The Massachusetts-based vendor says Aberdeen has deployed the Charles River Trading System (CRTS), a multicurrency trade order management solution, and ComplianceMaster, a pre- and post-trade compliance monitoring system, at offices in London, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Sydney, Singapore and Fort Lauderdale.

Ken Fry, group information technology director at Aberdeen, says it was essential to implement an 'out-of-the-box' solution.

"We needed a system that offered comprehensive order management, compliance, portfolio modelling and fixed income functionality without customised development," he adds.

Aberdeen's London office went live for equities in October 2001 and all sites were completed for equity, fixed income and derivatives trading by June 2002.

Charles River says Aberdeen's future plans include the introduction of its portfolio modelling system.
