MasterCard has launched 'Working in Europe', a tailored card payment programme designed specifically for banks to offer their small-to-mid-sized corporate customers.

MasterCard targets Europe's small businesses

'Working in Europe' comprises of a BusinessCard programme and additional productivity services and tools for SMEs and medium-sized corporates, including a financial resource guide and computer virus protection.

Under the scheme MasterCard Europe will also provide consultancy, including advice on the use of short message services in corporate marketing programmes.

Reporting tool, MasterCard smart data express, which has a 'plug and play' set-up, provides transaction reviews and can download data to software including Quicken, Quickbooks and Microsoft Money, will be available as part of the service later this year.

Tuuli Perkio, product manager, MasterCard Europe, corporate payments solutions, says the programme was designed to provide small businesses with "tools that provide greater control over their expenditure as well as electronic reporting, flexibility and added value benefits."
