In his new role, Wilkinson will be responsible for product development and client marketing. He replaces Mike Finlay.

Prior to joining Raft, Wilkinson was director of operational risk supplier Amelia, which he co-founded in 1996.

He also founded and managed Bancdirections, a niche performance and risk management solutions company.

Radar is a browser-based system that was initially developed for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Raft had high hopes for Radar when it was commercially released in October 2001, with bank interest in risk management activities sharpened by the more demanding regulations set out in the Basel II capital accord. But with spending in the doldrums, Raft has so far had only limited success in converting that interest into concrete sales.
