India's Geojit Securities is to roll out Reuters' online equity platform, Tibco Mercury Online (TMOL), to its dealers and private investors.
Reuters says it will work with the securities firm to deliver an STP solution for both its branch and Internet-based retail equity trading business. The deal includes technology, content and consultancy services.
TMOL, an order management product based on the Tibco ActiveEnterprise platform, will be implemented across Geojit's 75 branches in India.
The system will enable dealers using branch terminals and private investors using Geojit's Website to connect to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and The Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE).
C. J. George, managing director of Geojit Securities, says the deal with Reuters will "help us to manage our risks effectively, making our operations more efficient by reducing errors and enabling integration from back to front office".
Reuters says Geojit Securities is its first win in South Asia for Tibco Mercury Online.
