The product - pronounced WebATM - will enable the bank to offer real-time, online banking capabilities to its retail and wholesale customers, to manage online client data, and to allow data warehousing for statistical reporting and marketing, the Pittsburgh-based company says.

Initially installed at the Sumitomo New York branch, the product also includes treasury management features like Swift/ACH, wire transfer, positive pay, controlled disbursements, lockbox interface, float and zero balance account reporting, multi-currency and multi-bank account reporting, states the company.

Peter McCormick, CIO, Sumitomo Bank, North America, says after introducing Web@TM in North America the bank will consider rolling it out to other important markets.
