French online broker Fimatex says it has entered exclusive talks with Germany's DAB Bank to buy its French broking arm SelfTrade. Financial details have not been disclosed.

The move to offload SelfTrade comes five months after DAB Bank bought Austrian discount broker direktanlage.at and reflects a strategic withdrawal from the French market.

Fimatex, which recently acquired French financial data service Boursorama, says it will change its name to Boursorama with effect from 1 January 2003.
