Finnish smart card vendor Setec and Norwegian card company Tag Systems are to join forces to provide end-to-end card processing services to financial firms in Sweden.
Setec says the agreement strengthens the position of both companies in the Nordic card markets.
Jarmo Rouhiainen, senior vice president, Setec, adds: "Setec has already a significant market share in the banking sector in Finland and Denmark and the agreement also makes it possible to offer new EMV card solutions to Swedish banks."
Rouhiainen estimates that Visa-certified EMV cards will be available in Sweden during autumn 2003.
