RBC Global Services Institutional and Investor Services has acquired a global license for SecFinex's Web-based securities lending trading platform.

Canada-based RBC Global will integrate the SecFinex system with its own platform to launch an online securities lending service.

RBC Global says the system, along with efficient settlement operations and the continuing development of new electronic distribution channels moves it closer to achieving straight-through processing (STP).

Fred Francis, vice-president, securities finance & global products, RBC Global Services, adds: "The broad reach of a Web-based trading and auction system translates into higher lending utilisation and better returns for our lending clients."
