UK-based Tiger Projects Investment Management has launched a software development division to provide data consultancy services to asset management firms.
Tiger says the new division will comprise of 70 staff who will identify ways of improving and optimising data management, making the best use of an organisation's existing software.
The service will focus on client reporting, data warehousing and CRM and provide resources such as key programming languages, databases, Internet methodologies and development tools.
David King, managing director, Tiger, says the company's research into data practice has uncovered "staggering malpractices, resulting in enormous sums of money being wasted through misuse and duplication of data".
"We therefore decided that it was time to apply our insight more tangibly, creating a specialist team that could focus on these issues practically and cost-effectively," adds King.
