CheckFree develops natural language EBPP service

CheckFree has launched a natural language voice recognition service for electronic billing and payment (EBP) that integrates with other bill payment channels.
The latest version of the CheckFree WebPay service promises interoperability across Web and voice-activated e-bill and payment functionality, integration with personal financial management software, such as Intuit Quicken and Microsoft Money, and Web-based bill payment services.
The new CheckFree PhonePay feature enables users to hear information about e-bills, such as payment amount and due date, and make payments by speaking into the phone. The the history of payment made through PhonePay will be updated in real time in a customer's WebPay and PFM accounts.
CheckFree believes the service will enable banks to penetrate new customer demongraphics, increasing the percentage of their customers paying bills electronically.
