Meridien Research has announced that it will become part of a new IDC company focused exclusively on the financial services industry.
The new company will combine IDC's technology research with Meridien's financial industry expertise to provide research into the application of technology in financial services. It will be headed by Michon Schenck, the former president and COO of Sybase subsidiary Financial Fusion, which has been shedding senior staff of late.
Bill Bradway, president and co-founder, Meridien Research, says: "Teaming up with IDC will help us accelerate the pace of our expansion, increasing our ability to reach new clients and provide value to our current clients."
Meridien adds that its publications and client relationships will continue without interruption throughout the transition.
The group will be based in Framingham, Massachusetts and will operate from IDC's global offices.
