Misys upgrades Market Trader feed handling

Looking to meet demand for reduced market data costs on the trading floor, Misys Securities Trading Systems has upgraded its front office dealing system Market Trader to deliver integration with data distribution system Market Watch, and offer support for independent feed handlers.

Market Trader offers trading, position keeping and order management support for Euronext, London Stock Exchange and Xetra trading.

The new version integrates market data information components within the Market Trader display. These components are able to display news and pricing information from any of the supported market data feeds including Reuters and Moneyline Telerate. In addition, filters can be applied to sectors, or specific instrument lists enabling the configuration of the data screen to the needs of the individual user.

In parallel to these enhancements, Misys is developing data feed handlers to use independent vendor supplied data as a source for both market data (via Market Watch) and trading data (via Market Trader in Europe). Delivering data directly into the Market Trader order book removes the need for a dedicated exchange feed and its associated increased bandwidth requirement.

Andrew Murray, product manager at Misys comments: "The ability to satisfy all data requirements from a single, independent source benefits the client’s business as market data costs are significantly reduced."

The new version also supports connectivity to the London Stock Exchange RSP Gateway and full function wave trading capabilities, he adds.

The latest release of the package is undergoing implementation at two new client sites, says Murray, and is available as an upgrade to existing clients.
