The bank - which was recently at the centre of a rogue trading scandal - says it will be deploying HotScan to comply with Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act. The system reduces operator intervention and enables banks to minimise financial risk exposure.

The Bess solution provides payments, wire transfer and Swift messaging. The system is being deployed with a Web-enabled front-end and an interface to the bank's cash management system. Logica's DataServer will also be employed for ad hoc reporting.

Implementation of the solutions is due to be completed in October 2003.
