Washington Capital Management ditches Advent for Thomson

Investment advisory firm Washington Capital Management has licensed Thomson Financial's portfolio management system Portia and order management solution Oneva Trade EQ.

Fully integrated, Portia and Oneva Trade EQ give users simultaneous, real-time trade updates, shared data tables and common calculation logic for pre-trade, post-trade and historical compliance consistency.

The Portia system automates the trading, analysis and operations of money managers in 40 countries, while Oneva Trade EQ enables users to access external sources of liquidity.

Lorrie Reiterman, chief financial officer, Washington Capital Management, says: "We expect the Thomson front-to-back office solution will provide us with straight-through processing, as well as more efficient client report generation."

The Thomson Financial solutions will replace technology from incumbent vendor Advent Software as the hub of the firm's investment operations system.
