The software allows developers, QA engineers and production support departments to control a virtual exchange/ECN and use it to verify their own trade or order management system.

The Exchange Simulator supports scenarios that include low-level message, exchange rule, performance and automated regression testing and the recreation of production problems.

Norm Friedman, vice president, Aegis Software says: "Exchange Simulator provides a hands-on, automated environment that is always available to validate that a trading system is robust and ready to trade without error."

Licensees of the simulator include Lehman Brothers, Millennium Partners and ADP Brokerage Services.

Aegis Software says upcoming releases of the product will support European and Asian exchanges.
