Direct Line to offer neighbourhood data on the Web

UK insurance outfit Direct Line has signed a two-year deal with Experian for the provision of demographic lifestyle data over its Web site.

Visitors to the Direct Line Web site can now access a wealth of information on house prices and trends, profiles of the types of people that live in their neighbourhoods, the quality of local schools, cars people drive, and the range of shopping and recreational facilities available.

Ian Hood from Direct Line's e-commerce division says the idea is to satisfy individuals' curiosity about where they live - or may be planning to move to - and the sort of people who live there. "The reports provide an excellent source of information on local amenities and facilities, as well as providing important data on house price trends," he says.
