Cable and Wireless (C&W) has signed a three-year contract worth $40 million to provide voice and data services to UBS Warburg.
Under the agreement, C&W will provide ATM and frame relay networks, leased lines and internet access to UBS Warburg's offices across North America, Europe and Asia.
C&W will also support UBS Warburg in a move to a single converged communication solution, based on IP-VPN (Internet protocol virtual private network) technology.
Doug Loewe, president of global enterprise markets, C&W says: "As communications infrastructure becomes increasingly sophisticated, customers/suppliers need to take a partnership approach to achieving successful network rollout and management and we look forward to forging this relationship with UBS Warburg."
The new agreement is in addition to an existing hosting contract with C&W (through the acquisition of Digital Island in August 2001) and is part of UBS Warburg's strategy to streamline its telecommunications suppliers.
