The Iceland Stock Exchange (ICEX) failed to open for business yesterday due to a failure in the CANTAT3 fibre cable used to connect the exchange with market participants.
Efforts by telecommunications company Landssimi Islands hf to establish a new satellite link in order to re-route telecommunications traffic were unsuccessful by close of trading yesterday.
ICEX says it expects regular trading hours today.
