Sumitomo Trust Bank in Japan has purchased IMS System's lending module of its core banking system, Newton.

Walter Rim, CEO of the Korean software house, states: "This sale is significant as it is the first of a number of expected sales from the Japanese market. IMS has invested heavily in the Japanese market and we are now starting to see the returns from that investment."
