The two companies say they will work together to develop secure solutions for mobile devices ranging from phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs) to next generation "personal trusted devices". Under the agreeement, Baltimore will provide mobile root digital certificates based on its Telepathy product suite for embedding in Motorola handsets and gateways.

An early deliverable of this alliance is the support by Baltimore's wireless certificate service for Motorola's WAP server platform. It is expected that Wap phone users will be able to obtain digital certificates to activate the secure session capabilities of the Motorola server infrastructure.
