Poland's BRE Bank has signed a contract with Tantia Technologies and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) to implement a LAN-free backup and recovery solution running on existing NT servers connected to a corporate mainframe.
Tantia Technologies uses HDS storage hardware systems to transfer data between mainframe and open systems environments and back up mission critical data. The technology significantly reduces CPU load, and achieves substantially higher data throughput by means of HDS-SAN integration, says the vendor, enabling data to be restored in the shortest time possible in the event of an emergency.
The deal marks Tantia's first financial services contract win in Poland.
