National Australia Bank has signed a five-year renewal contract with Telstra to outsource its Australian and New Zealand telecommunications services.
The renewal agreement covers the transition of employees, assets and third party contracts associated with telephony services; data services; and communication links between Australia and New Zealand. In addition, the current desktop outsourcing contract in Australia will be extended and aligned with the new arrangement.
Under the agreement, 71 of the National's full time staff will be offered employment with Telstra and TelstraClear.
Ian Croch, The National's chief information officer, says: "Our partnership with Telstra is an initiative to invest in new processes and technology infrastructure that will make us more efficient and provide easier, simpler and quicker service to our customers."
It is expected the deal will achieve $110 million in savings over the five year period.
