CBOT provides member firms with a technology service which records trades using the Eyretel MediaStore call recording system. Firms can then use the system to review call recordings in the event of a dispute over a specific customer trade.

CBOT is to install Eyretel's Insight Viewer Web-based application to enable clients to use the product's graphical interface directly from their own desktop or laptop computer to search for and retrieve the specific traders' telephone calls. Currently, firms need to make a request to the CBOT's telecom department to retrieve a specific call.

Bryan O'Donnell, the CBOT's director of telecommunications, says: "Now our clients will be able to instantly access their calls without our telecom department's involvement. They can then e-mail these calls directly to their home office for use in quickly settling trade disputes."
