Under the agreement, the Avaya solution will provide communications services to three major facilities housing approximately 10,000 people across the bank's Mexican commercial and retail banking activities.

The solution is based on an Avaya Definity G3R Enterprise Communications server and includes supporting equipment and software such as Avaya's VisAbility Management Suite. The software provides a 'snap shot' of the system and allows network managers easily to monitor the health and performance of all systems on the network from one central point and respond to events in a timely manner, says the company.

The Avaya system will initially be used to transmit voice communications but can be upgraded to include converged communications such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and video.
