State Street has opened a new Canadian headquarters in downtown Toronto in a bid to accommodate its growing operations.
The new 390,000 square-foot facility is located at The State Street Financial Centre and will offer its full suite of investment services including global and domestic custody, fund accounting and valuation, securities lending, foreign exchange, transition management and trading services.
The new headquarters will house more than 600 State Street employees, as well as 450 IFDS-Canada employees - the company's shareholder services joint venture with DST Systems.
John Towers, vice chairman of State Street, says: "We remain committed to the Canadian market, and with the opening of the State Street Financial Centre, we look forward to expanding our presence and supporting the Canadian investment community for many years to come."
