ABN Amro banks on divine collaboration tool

ABN Amro is to use divine's MindAlign enterprise-wide collaboration and knowledge-sharing tool to enable 2500 users to collaborate internally within the organisation and externally to clients and partners.

Divine MindAlign combines chat, instant messaging and access to previous information and knowledge to enable a real-time global exchange of information and experience in a secure environment. It also allows news, documents and Web Universal Resource Locators (URLs) to be transmitted between a variety of audiences such as one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many.

ABN Amro staff will use the collaboration tool to exchange information and ideas in real-time, while decreasing the volume of company emails and time spent researching newswires, says the company.

The first phase of the global MindAlign project has recently been completed with the successful deployment to ABN Amro offices in 17 countries. The second phase will widen the reach of the project to encompass over 45 countries around the world.

Andy Konchan, director of e-commerce at ABN Amro, explains: "Any new technology that we roll out to our employees must be easy to use and provide instant benefits to the organisation. The take-up of divine's MindAlign was very quick as our staff found the product both intuitive and something that could immediately help increase revenues and/or save costs."
