Korea's Hanvit Bank has selected Computer Associates' Unicenter, BrightStor and Advantage solutions to support its e-banking systems initiatives.
Hanvit Bank was formed in 1999 from the merger of The Commercial Bank of Korea and Hanil Bank. The bank recently acquired Pyonghwa Bank and plans to complete mergers with two additional local commercial banks.
The bank will use CA's e-business management solutions to optimise the management and integration of the diverse IT systems and data resources resulting from these mergers.
Chun Jung-rak, vice president and CIO of Hanvit Bank, says: "By implementing Unicenter, BrightStor and Advantage, Hanvit Bank will be able to more efficiently utilise our mainframe resources, enabling us to avoid the cost and disruption of downsizing while still delivering highly flexible online services to our customers."
CA's Unicenter Log Analyzer for DB2, Unicenter Plan Analyzer for DB2 and Advantage XCOM Data Transport will be implemented to support the bank's legacy systems integration strategy. BrightStor CA-Vantage Storage Resource Manager and BrightStor CA-1 Tape Management will be deployed to handle the bank's increased storage requirements.
