SecFinex, the online marketplace for securities finance, has teamed up with Cognos to deliver real-time tailored trading reports direct to customers' desktops.
Under the agreement, SecFinex is using Cognos' business intelligence solution, combined with a secure, virtual private network (VPN), to send raw data and standardised reports instantly to its global customers. Traders are then able to customise and publish the reports to meet individual user needs.
SecFinex says it chose the Cognos solution for the ease with which a non-technical workforce can use and develop their own reports.
Mark Sear, chief software architect at SecFinex, says: "The Cognos solution has already improved the working lives of our clients, in terms of speed and quality of information provision. We needed a solution with all-round functionality that the traders would actually use, not just one that the IT department thought was the latest 'must-have' technology. The feedback from users has been very positive and I expect to see full return on investment within the next few months."
