Brokerage firm GFI is to implement CSK Software's Slingshot data streaming engine to provide clients with real-time market data over the Internet.
The GFI market data will be delivered through its Web site directly into its Fenics derivative pricing software applications and, using an API, into end-user applications. Clients will be able to receive streamed company information, quotes, prices and news headlines over the Internet to their screens, says the company.
Michel Everaert, global head of product marketing at GFI, explains: "We generate large volumes of top quality market data which we are now keen to market actively on a global basis as part of our programme for future growth."
Russ Lewis, executive vice president and CIO, notes: "Slingshot's straightforward programming API allows both our own and our clients' applications to tap into GFI market data without substantial development effort."
Implementation is already underway to integrate Slingshot within GFI's existing infrastructure. The project is scheduled to go live next month.
