Under the extended agreement, the bank will be able to operate the Merx service through to May 2004. As part of the extension, a new price structure will be introduced on 1 June 2002. Customers will spend $29.95 per month, plus discretionary document fees, to access tenders and the associated documents for more than 1700 tendering opportunities available daily.

Marnie Kinsley, executive vice-president, e-business, Bank of Montreal, says: “We plan to enhance our services and will continue to help Merx suppliers spend more time responding to and winning tenders and less time searching for them.”

Merx currently represents more than 2000 buying organisations from the federal, provincial and public sectors, and over 50,000 suppliers.
