Burgan Bank licensed the ACI Commerce Gateway through Hasibat, ACI's distributor in Kuwait.

The new payment portal will allow consumers to pay for goods online using either their debit card protected by a PIN or credit card. When the consumer wishes to enter payment details, the service switches to the bank's secure Web site, rather than relying on a merchant Web site to handle sensitive information about the card.

Abdul Aziz Al Nabhan, chairman and managing director of Burgan Bank says: "By adding the secure commerce software to our existing Base24 and ACI Card Management systems, we have been able to deploy a comprehensive, state-of-the-art e-payments platform that gives the bank a significant competitive advantage."
