Tutors from Man Direct, part of Man Financial, will show how home computers can be used to place and manage orders online and spot trading opportunities.

Karen Dixon, director of marketing at Liffe, says: "Futures are becoming increasingly popular with private investors as they offer efficient use of capital and the chance to easily take both bullish and bearish positions...This training initiative gives private investors greater access to instruments that until recently were the preserve of institutional traders."

The four workshops will be held on 10 April, two on 15 April and on 18 April. Each will be held at the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange, Cannon Bridge House, 1 Cousin Lane, London EC4R 3XX. Those interested can register on Man Direct's Web site, www.mandirect.com.
