The new service, developed in association with local vendor Macalla Software, is available over the Esat Digifone network, and enables customers to view their balance and statement information (last six transactions) on their bank and credit card accounts using WAP enabled mobile phones.

Over the coming weeks customers will be offered extended functionality, including a facility to transfer funds and pay bills, says the bank. The new service uses a standard user identification process, so customers only need a single registration number and access code to use any of AIB Bank’s Internet, telephone, GSM mobile and now WAP banking services.
