SmartServ and HP open first wireless data centre

SmartServ has opened a New York data centre to provide application hosting services for wireless transactions. The centre has been created jointly by SmartServ and Hewlett-Packard to deliver mobile services to financial institutions worldwide.

Sam Cassetta, SmartServ's chairman and CEO says the New York operation is the first in a wave of similar sites which the two firms will open in key stretagic financial centres over the next twelve to eighteen months.

The New York platform will offer securities trading and trade order routing from any Web or wireless device directly to brokers/dealers for execution on major exchanges worldwide. The platform will also enable delivery of global m-commerce transactions.

SmartServ has contracted with AT&T for bandwidth on demand for the New York data centre. which is located in the AT&T building in downtown Manhattan
