Using the service, UBS Warburg's institutional clients will be able to view the bank's latest equity research using Palm OS, Windows CE or Pocket PC devices. This will be either in real-time via a wireless connection, or offline, through synchronisation with a desktop PC. Initially, the service will cover the group's flagship product 'Latin American StockWatch'. Other research products are scheduled for similar distribution during the coming months.

The new mobile service has various features including sorting and grouping by country, sector and index. In addition, stocks can be reviewed by performance, recommendation, per share and valuation. Aggregate market data is also available.

Andrew Ling, head of research communication solutions at UBS Warburg, says: "Mobile devices have achieved huge penetration within the investment community and there is increasing demand for a solution that provides our clients with mobile access to broker research. AvantGo's Enterprise Online service has helped UBS Warburg address these needs and because it's a hosted service, we've been able to avoid additional investment in new IT infrastructure and staff."

Subscribers to the UBS Warburg service will also be able to use AvantGo's free interactive mobile Internet service to access content from over 400 Web sites, including FT.com, Bloomberg, The Economist.com and ITN Online.
