ING Direct passes three million customer milestone

ING Direct has clocked up three million customers worldwide for its telenet banking services.
A family from Boston has been identified as the three millionth customer. Since its launch in the United States in September 2000, ING Direct has gained 500,000 customers.
The company also has offshoots in Canada, Spain, France, Australia and Italy, and has total assets of over $26 billion.
Arkadi Kuhlmann, president and CEO, ING Direct USA, says: "Just last April, we were at one million global customers. To be at three million customers this quickly is quite an accomplishment."
