Arefiev will be based in Moscow, where the company is opening a new office. He will initially be responsible for appointing a strong network of local distributor partners across the CEE region.

Before joining CyberNet, Arefiev was sales director for Hypercom. He has also worked for Menatep Bank, a dual Visa International and Europay International member bank, in Moscow where he managed its merchant acquiring business.

CyberNet provides POS terminals based around an open architecture and powered by a 32 bit processor. The terminals have applications developed under Java and are smart card ready.
