Taiwan's CosmosBank has placed a new order with Sydney-based Keycorp for its Multos smart cards, following an initial deal in May last year, bringing the bank's total account to over half a million cards, at a value of A$3.5 million.
The chip credit cards, which are being distributed by the bank across Taiwan, include MasterCard's M/Chip credit application, and will soon incorporate a Mondex purse. Other applications, such as loyalty, digital certificate or e-ticketing, can be loaded in the future.
This new order will be rolled out by April, 2002, says the company.
C H Lu, general manager of card centre, CosmosBank, Taiwan, says: "We chose to partner with Keycorp because of the high security and flexibility of their Multos platform."
