Nasdaq Europe has signed up Bear Stearns International, Dubus, Madoff Securities International and Schroder Salomon Smith Barney to become operational members of the fledgeling European market.

Madoff and Schroder Salomon Smith Barney are to be market makers in Nasdaq Europe securities while Dubus and Bear Stearns will take on the role of active brokers. Both Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and Madoff are strategic investors in Nasdaq Europe.

Claude Dubus, chairman and CEO of Dubus, says: “We’re expecting a great deal from Nasdaq Europe which we hope will act as a catalyst to consolidation between national bourses and encourage them to be truly European. We expect Nasdaq Europe to have a significant impact on the IPO market.”
