Reuters Software (Thailand) Ltd. will take over development and support responsibility for the company's real-time financial applications for market data display and analysis, order routing, transaction processing, news content creation and data distribution.

Responsibility for 14 software applications has already been moved to Bangkok from Reuters development locations in New York, Tokyo, Palo Alto and Sydney.

The facility currently employs 30 development staff and plans to reach its full capacity of 200 by mid-2004. Reuters is actively recruiting both Thai IT professionals and new graduates from technology programmes at Thai universities.

Tod Masters, technical director of Reuters Software (Thailand) Ltd., says: “Reuters is investing in this facility because of our very positive experience with software development in Thailand."
